First, the initial phone call was answered with the caring and professionalism that I wish was commonplace, but all too often is missing. I immediately knew I was in good hands. David G texted when he was on his way and from the moment he entered the house, his professionalism and caring was displayed. I had a clogged condensate pipe that caused moderate flooding in basement. Clearing the clog was easy, and he presented me with some fixes that would shut down the system if a clog happened in the future (These should have been done with the original installation but were not). I highly recommend Platinum and especially David G.

The largest factor in determining the cost of a new well is the depth of your well. Unfortunately, in order to calculate the actual depth of your well, a Platinum Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning expert will have to drill into it. Other factors that determine the cost of a new well are the type of well system (standard or constant pressure), the size of the tank, the horsepower of the pump, and the distance of the well to your house. Additionally, we take public information on other wells in your area into consideration upon calculating the cost of a new well.
Once the permit is granted and received, it typically takes on average, about a week’s time to drill a new well. This process includes drilling the well, hooking it up, and testing the water. However, it cannot be guaranteed, especially during summer. It is always best to apply for the permit at least a month in advance to ensure everything goes smoothly and you may want to consider having Platinum Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning apply for the permit on your behalf for accuracy as the application process is something that might not be familiar to you.
Well pumps are rated in GPM (Gallons per Minute). A typical three to four bedroom house requires around eight to 12 GPM. When determining your home water needs, add one GPM for every water fixture in your home. A Platinum Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning plumbing expert will also be able to accurately calculate what size well pump is needed for your home and water needs.
The type of pump, its depth, location, and the size of your well all determine the cost of replacing and/or installing a submersible well pump. Have a trusted Platinum Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning plumbing expert assess your home and water needs to get a quote on the cost to install a submersible well pump.
If you notice your well pump is running constantly, it is highly likely there is a larger underlying problem with your pump. Potential issues with your well pump could be a leak in the drop pipe, air leaks in the impeller of the pump casing, faulty check valves inside of the well pump, and/or a damaged foot valve at the bottom of your well. If your well pump is running constantly, call a Platinum Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning repair expert to help resolve the issue.
If your well pump is properly maintained, it should be okay to turn off your well pump. When doing so, it’s also a good idea to shut off the power to the hot water heater. In rare cases, a broken water line can siphon water out of the hot water heater, causing damage to the unit. It’s important to have your well pump properly maintained by a Platinum Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning professional at least once a year.
