Back to School? Let’s Talk About IAQ

We’re slowly integrating ourselves back into the world now. This might mean that you’re sending your little one back to school physically for the first time in a couple of years. This is an exciting moment, but because of the state of our world, the excitement can quickly turn to nerves.

We know that you’re doing your all to keep your children safe and healthy, and you want to keep everyone else in your home healthy too. This is when you should consider improving your home’s indoor air quality in Montgomery County, PA. We’re going to walk you through the basics. There are certain indoor air quality systems that can do a lot for you during this time of year. Let’s talk about this below…

Is Your Indoor Air Quality Suffering?

Here are the signs that your indoor air quality could use a little extra care.

  • You’re sneezing, wheezing, and coughing more often than you’d like to with no clear cause.
  • You’re noticing that you’re starting to snore out of nowhere, or that your snoring is worsening.
  • There’s an excess amount of dust building up all over your home.
  • You’ve noticed that your skin is irritated or you’re breaking out in rashes.
  • Your eyes are itchy, your nose is runny, or you’re congested.

Basically, if you start to feel like allergy season exists within the walls of your home, then you need to get in contact with our professionals.

Our Back to School Picks

These are the systems we suggest to help you keep germs at bay.

Air Filters

The air in your home can easily fill with smog, dust, pollen, and other airborne pollutants. If you want to clear up your home’s indoor air quality, then you should consider an air filter for things like this. Air filters are fairly easy to fit into a home. They’re also great because they get placed directly into your HVAC system. This means that they can filter all the incoming air in your home.

UV Lights (Air Scrubber/ Reme Halo)

There are varying strengths of filters that you can use in a home. If you’re not dealing with the pollutants that we’ve listed above and you’re dealing with something more along the lines of allergies and respiratory issues, then you might want to consider a UV light.

We use UV air purifiers from Air Scrubber and Reme Halo because we stand by their product. UV air purifiers are great as is, but the brands we choose to align with make things that much better.

Bonus: Staying On Top of Your HVAC Filter

This isn’t exactly an indoor air quality system directly, but it’s something that contributes to the overall cleanliness of your home. Your air conditioner and heater both have a filter in them. They need to be changed at least once a season. If this isn’t something you’re doing, then it’s something we suggest putting on your calendar sooner than later. This simple switch once a season is going to help you keep your home pristine.
